About the Arizona Lottery
The Arizona Lottery started in 1981 and features The Pick (6/44), Fantasy 5 (5/41), Pick 3, Triple Twist, All or Nothing, plus Powerball and Mega Millions. Arizona taxes resident winners at 4.8% and non-residents at 6% — making it one of only two states (with Maryland) that apply a higher rate to out-of-state winners. Arizona Lottery proceeds fund a wide range of programs including the Arizona Heritage Fund, Healthy Arizona Initiative, Court Appointed Special Advocates, and economic development. The lottery has contributed over $5 billion to Arizona since inception. In 2016, a Fountain Hills couple claimed a $6.7 million The Pick jackpot.
