A $1 Florida Ticket Won $875,000—and Two More Players Won $10,000
Florida’s Friday night lottery drawing delivered three unusually large prizes through two different ways of reading the same ticket.
One Jackpot Triple Play ticket matched all six numbers drawn September 4 to win the $875,000 rolling jackpot. The Quick Pick ticket was sold at Publix, 2724 West Hillsborough Avenue in Tampa. The winning numbers were 2, 8, 19, 21, 23, and 46.
But the jackpot was not the only headline. Two other tickets won $10,000 each through the game’s optional Combo feature. That contrast makes this result more useful than a routine winner announcement: Jackpot Triple Play tickets contain three lines, and players can win either on one line or by counting matches across all three.
Three lines come with every $1 play
Jackpot Triple Play is a Florida-only draw game played Tuesdays and Fridays. For $1, a ticket provides three separate six-number lines from a field of 1 through 46.
The player chooses the first line or accepts a Quick Pick. The lottery terminal automatically generates the other two. Matching all six winning numbers on any single line wins the rolling jackpot, with official jackpot odds of approximately 1 in 3.12 million.
Friday’s Tampa ticket did exactly that. The jackpot had risen from $250,000 in mid-August through six drawings without a top-prize winner, reaching $875,000 before the September 4 drawing. With one winner, the next jackpot resets to $250,000.
The lower prize tiers also matter. The September 4 drawing produced 28 five-number winners, 1,299 four-number winners, and 21,430 three-number winners on individual lines. Check every line against LuckMaker’s latest lottery results, not just the numbers you selected yourself.
The $10,000 wins came from a different calculation
For an additional $1, the Combo option counts how many of the six winning numbers appear anywhere across all 18 numbers printed on the ticket’s three lines. Repeated numbers across lines count as separate matches.
A Combo ticket with 10 or more total matches wins $10,000. Two tickets reached that top Combo tier Friday even though they did not match all six numbers on one line. Other Combo prizes begin with a free ticket for four total matches and rise through $5, $10, $20, $50, and $500.
That means a quick visual scan can miss a win. First check each line independently, then—if Combo was purchased—count all qualifying appearances across the three lines. The Ticket Vault makes that routine easier: save the game, draw date, all three lines, Combo status, retailer, and a clear ticket image. The digital record helps with organization, but the original ticket remains the claim document.
Random numbers are already built into the game
The Tampa jackpot came from a Quick Pick, but that does not make Quick Picks more predictive. Every valid six-number combination has the same chance in a fair drawing. Jackpot Triple Play simply guarantees that two of the ticket’s three lines are terminal-generated.
If you want an unbiased first line without relying on birthdays or visual patterns, LuckMaker’s Lucky Number Generator can create a random selection for supported games. It cannot forecast a result, and the Florida Lottery terminal will still create lines two and three.

What an $875,000 winner should plan for
Lottery prizes are taxable income. Federal tax and the winner’s full financial situation can materially reduce the amount available after the claim. Florida does not impose an individual state income tax, but federal liability still applies. LuckMaker’s Lottery Tax Calculator offers a useful first estimate; a prize this large deserves confirmation from a qualified tax professional before the winner spends, gifts, or invests it.
LuckMaker covers 98 games across 25 U.S. states and 9 international markets. Friday’s result is a good reminder of why game rules matter: one ticket captured $875,000 by completing a single line, while two others collected $10,000 by accumulating matches across three lines.
Use the Lucky Number Generator when you want a clean random selection, save every line and add-on in Ticket Vault, and check the complete ticket after each drawing.
