Australia's Set for Life Is Raising Its Price—What Do Players Get?
Australia's Set for Life is getting a price increase and a prize refresh on September 14, 2026, subject to regulatory approval. The base subscription price will rise from 60 cents to 70 cents per game, while the two highest prize divisions will add new upfront payments.
The odds and the number-matching rules are not changing. That makes this a clean tradeoff to examine: players will pay 16.7% more per game for larger top-tier payouts, but they will not receive a better chance of reaching those tiers.
Division 1 adds $200,000 at the beginning
The familiar Division 1 prize remains $20,000 a month for 20 years. That stream totals $4.8 million across 240 monthly payments. Under the updated format, a winner will also receive $200,000 upfront, making the first installment $220,000 and the full nominal prize $5 million.
That is a 4.17% increase in the total stated prize. It is useful money at the moment a winner may be reorganizing work, housing, debt, or professional advice—but it is proportionally smaller than the 16.7% increase in the base game price.
Division 2 gets the larger relative boost. Its existing prize is $5,000 a month for 12 months, totaling $60,000. A new $20,000 upfront payment lifts the total to $80,000, a 33.3% increase. The first installment becomes $25,000.
Those prizes remain guaranteed for up to four winners. If more than four tickets win either top division, the applicable prize pool is divided among them.
A minimum seven-draw entry will cost $5.60
Set for Life is drawn daily, but one entry covers seven consecutive draws. Lotterywest says its minimum entry price will become $5.60, up from $4.80, with retailer commission included. A Slikpik 2 will rise to $10.85 and a Slikpik 3 to $16.45.
The underlying game remains seven main numbers selected from 1 through 44. Division 1 still requires matching all seven main numbers, and Division 2 still requires six main numbers plus one supplementary number. Lotterywest explicitly says the odds across all divisions will remain the same.

The system update creates an important date for regular players. Set for Life sales in Western Australia will pause from 7:01 p.m. September 7 through 7:00 p.m. September 13.
